Join 5 Pointz, DJ Kool Herc and legendary graffiti artists as they celebrate 40 years of Hip Hop on Sunday, August 11, 5pm – 7pm. 5 Pointz, popularly known as NYC’s graffiti mecca, has served as the epicenter of the graffiti scene and has provided aerosol artists an outlet to legally express themselves. Location:  45-46 Davis St, Long Island City.

Kool Herc, also known as Clive Campbell, is a Jamaican-born American DJ who is credited with originating hip hop music in the early 1970s in The Bronx, NYC.

Wellness: Walk Run or Bike the Williamsburg Bridge

One of the coolest wellness activities in the city is to walk, run or bike the Williamsburg bridge. Depending on which way you’re commuting — from BK to Manhattan or Manhattan to BK — you can visit either the LES art galleries or enjoy the Williamsburg street art. Don’t forget to make friends with the hundreds of daily commuters while crossing.

Art: Street Artists Pose + Revok in Chelsea (Free)

The Jonathan LeVine Gallery, 529 W. 20th Street, 9th Floor, is currently exhibiting street artists Pose and Revok. The exhibition — Uphill Both Ways — is a two-person show curated by Roger Gatsman. June 29 – July 27.

For those interested in seeing their murals, you can catch Pose + Revok’s most recent work on the infamous Goldman Properties wall, located on Hudson and Bowery, NYC.
