BEAT is a yearly performing arts festival that features the best Brooklyn talent in the areas of theater, dance & voice. The festival will take place at selected Brooklyn venues and will host events such as Museum MashUps, Brooklyn 63 and Freestyle Mondays. Opening night is tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 7pm at the Brooklyn Museum (200 Eastern Parkway). The festival runs from September 12th – September 21st.

At the Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month, from 5 to 11 p.m. All evening long, the Museum café serves a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer. This coming Saturday, August 3, the museum is showcasing Caribbean-themed music, curatorial talks, film and art. The Brooklyn Museum is located at 200 Eastern Parkway.
