Activity: Celebrity Hotspots Unveiled via TMZ NYC Tour


Interested in knowing where celebrities party and play? TMZ is now making it possible for you to learn about their’ “secret” hangouts by sharing where paparazzis stake out. The two-hour excursion highlights more than 70 places around Manhattan, from the tame (Jessica Simpson’s go-to Mexican restaurant) to the Tawdry (the hotel where Charlie Sheen got high, hot and heavy with a stripper). The tours begins on Wednesday, August 21. Sounds like an entertaining experience. $52 per ticket. Location: 51st Street & Broadway.

Music: Charlie Parker Jazz Festival at Marcus Garvey Park (Free)


Join jazz legend Jimmy Heath as he pays homage to Charlie Parker’s historic compositions on Friday, August 23, at Marcus Garvey Park, 18 Mt. Morris Park West. This Summer Stage event will consist of nostalgic performances that will keep Charlie Parker’s spirit and legacy alive. Show starts at 7pm and ends at 9pm. Free. A must for Jazz enthusiasts.

Jimmy Heath has long been recognized as a brilliant saxophonist, magnificent composer and arranger. He has performed with nearly all the jazz greats of the past fifty years, including Charlie Parker himself, Howard McGhee, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Wynton Marsalis.
