On Wednesday, July 24, Hudson RiverFlicks for Grownups presents 2012’s blockbuster hit and winner of 3 Academy Awards: Argo. The movie was directed, co-produced by, and stars Ben Affleck. It’s based on CIA operative Tony Mendez’s book The Master of Disguise. Mendez is known for leading the rescue of six U.S. diplomats from Tehran, Iran during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. The movie will show at Pier 63 in Chelsea and starts promptly at 8:30pm. Bring blankets and snacks. Free.

On Wednesday, July 24, 6:30pm – 8:30pm, El Museo del Barrio will host a neighborhood forum based on the documentary El Barrio Tours: Gentrification in East Harlem. The forum will explore arts & culture-related development, gentrification and how to make proposed developments more equitable.

El Museo del Barrio welcomes visitors of all backgrounds to discover the artistic and cultural landscape of the Caribbean and Latin America. It is located at 1230 Fifth Avenue (104th Street).
