At the Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment, from 5pm to 11pm. This Saturday, July 6, the Museum encourages visitors to rethink American history by Remixing the American Story. The museum will showcase music influenced by New Orleans street bands and Indian wedding brass, as well as American music that ranges from blues to hip hop. There will also be a forum that addresses complex issues like immigration, education and harassment; followed by the Nuyorican Poets Cafe poetry slam.
